Public Sessions

A Public Session is a stage-style event with designated speakers and an audience. Free and open to everyone.

How it works

  • Layout: Stage — speakers on stage, listeners in the audience
  • Access: Free, open to anyone
  • Monetized: No
  • Recordable: Yes, with participant consent

Who it's for

Public Sessions are ideal for presentations, panels, interviews, Q&A events, and any format where a few speakers address a larger audience.

Creating a Public Session

  1. Tap the Go Live button
  2. Select Public Session
  3. Add a title, topic, and optional content warning
  4. Tap Go Live

Inside the session

  • Speakers are on the stage with active microphones
  • Listeners are in the audience with muted microphones
  • Listeners can raise their hand to request to speak. The host can invite them to the stage
  • The host can mute or remove speakers from the stage

Recording

The host can enable recording for Public Sessions. When recording is enabled:

  • All speakers must provide explicit consent
  • A visible RECORDING badge is shown to all participants
  • Only speaker audio is captured — listeners are never recorded
  • See Recording and Consent for full details
