Recording Protection
Aria protects session content from unauthorized screen recording.
How it works
The Aria iOS app detects when screen recording is active on your device during a live session. When detected:
- A protective overlay is displayed, obscuring session content
- Session audio is muted to prevent unauthorized capture
- Participants are notified that recording protection is active
Why this exists
Recording sessions through external means (screen recording software, external microphones, third-party apps) is prohibited under Aria's Terms of Service. This protection ensures that creators and speakers can participate in live sessions with confidence that their content is not being captured without consent.
Privacy
- No screen content, screenshots, or recordings from your device are collected or transmitted to Aria's servers
- Recording protection simply detects the system-level screen recording state and activates the overlay
- Capabilities may vary by device and platform
What to do if you see the overlay
If the recording protection overlay appears unexpectedly, check that you don't have screen recording or screen mirroring active on your device. Turn it off to resume the session normally.
